Beginners' Restricted Access Course (BRA)

From the information you have supplied the most suitable course for you is our Beginner Restricted Access Course (BRA) which will run over 4 days (either consecutively or over a period of 2 weeks). Once complete you will be able to ride any motorcycle of your choice but it must be restricted to 33bhp for the first two years.

This course is for someone who has absolutely no previous riding experience and is looking to get some real enjoyment out of riding motorcycles. If you have some riding experience but are nervous about taking tests then this is the most suitable course.

All of your training will be done at a pupil to instructor ratio of just 2:1. You will be with the same instructor and pupil throughout the course. All days are full days starting at 9.00am and finishing around 5.00pm

The course will start with CBT which is done on a Saturday or a Sunday. With your CBT completed you are able to hire one of our 125cc bikes to get some practice on your own prior to the rest of your course. Follow the link at the bottom of this page for more details.

Day 2 is a week day which will consist of progression from your CBT and aims to get you fully comfortable riding geared motorcycles. Specifically we are looking to improve your gear changing, balance, slow speed and throttle control.

Day 3 will follow on from day 2 and start off with a short theory session where we will discuss how your course will progress and what we will expect from you. From there we will spend this day and the next riding the bikes.

On the last day following final preparation, you will be taken to the test centre at the appropriate time and introduced to the examiner who will conduct your test.

The test will last approximately 45 minutes from start to finish. This includes the time taken to brief you, fit the radio equipment, conduct the eyesight test, check your paperwork and debrief you at the end of the test. So, all in all, you will only spend about 35 minutes on the road (however it will seem like just 5!). Your test route will cover town, out of town and (where possible) dual carriageway riding. The examiner is simply looking for a safe and legal ride. Do this and you will pass.

The cost of all of this is just £545! This includes all 4 days of training, the test fee, CBT, bike hire including fully comprehensive insurance and fuel.
